Eczema is a skin condition that results in inflammation, itching, and dry, scaly patches on the skin. It can be an uncomfortable condition which often requires treatment with topical creams and ointments. Eczema mostly affects the dry areas of your body such as the elbows and knees but can also affect other areas of your skin like your scalp or neck.

Eczema is a chronic disease and there are few factors that develop eczema. Genetic factor or family history is the primary risk factor for eczema. The disease is more common in children who mostly suffer from asthma or hay fever.

  • Red to grey or brownish-grey patches, especially on feet, upper chest, eyelids, neck, ankles, hands, and elbows
  • Raised bumps after scratching that may leak fluid
  • Sensitive, swollen, raw skin from scratching
  • Severe itching mostly at night
