Joint Pain

The joints are known to be parts of the body which enable movement. Any discomfort in the form of pain or inflammation is referred to as joint pains, ranging from mild to severe.

Symptoms of Joint Pain

The severity of the pain might require you to consult a medical practitioner when you come across the following conditions:

  • The surrounding joints are swollen, red or feeling of radiating heat.
  • Persisting pain for three days or more 
  • Flu due to the pain 
  • Worsening of pain while walking or any form of stiffness.

Risk factors of Joint Pain

The risk factors, in this case, are considered to be manageable. But there are specific criteria as follows which can make it worse:

  • Over Weight & Obesity- It leads to Knee osteoarthritis, as excess weight creates stress over the weight-bearing joints like the hips and knee. 
  • Infection- Bacteria and viruses infect the joints making the condition worse. 
  • Smoking  – There are more chances of getting Rheumatoid arthritis, worsening the condition. It creates a disturbance in the physical activeness of the person. 
  • Food – Certain foods tend to increase the level of uric acid in the body, causing a gout flare.

Treatment for Joint Pain

The joint pain can range from a moderate level to severe. Specific treatments are administered by  the doctors to make the condition tolerable as follows.

  • Medications
  • Muscle relaxants
  • Physical Therapy 
  • Injections to remove fluids from joints 
  • Steroids
