Varicose Veins Surgery
Varicose veins surgery is given to those patients whose varicose veins are causing skin ulcers. The patients undergo a surgical procedure called litigation and striping. In this surgery, varicose veins are removed by giving general anaesthesia. Varicose veins surgery is of three types: RFA, EVLA, and Traditional stripping.
RFA
Venous insufficiency leading to varicose veins is a severe health condition. Radiofrequency ablation, RFA does not just heal the symptoms, but it can also treat the underlying cause of varicose veins. THE RFA process is effective and safe, and it does not need any hospitalisation. The outpatient procedure cycle often takes less than one hour to complete.
Some studies will show that the process of radiofrequency ablation can often lessen the pain. It is less likely to cause you complications when you compare it with the other vein treatment methods.
Symptoms and Recovery
Infections due to the radiofrequency ablation process are less likely to happen, however, you may experience the following:
- Sensitivity and bruising at the injection site
- Warmth and redness along the portion of the vein
- Tightness of the blood vein
EVLA
Endovenous laser therapy (EVLA) is a new type of medical treatment. In this medical treatment, no surgical procedure is required. The patient is only given laser treatment to kill the abnormal varicose veins. The body then naturally absorbs the dead tissue of veins. In this way, the skin ulcer is cured by destroying the affected varicose veins that are causing the skin ulcers.
Traditional Stripping
Traditional stripping is the oldest method to treat varicose veins surgery. This prevents the varicose veins from coming back. This procedure is known as the traditional stripping of varicose veins with ligation, ablation, and avulsion. Now, this method has been replaced either by RFA or EVLA.
Nevertheless, recovery from the above-mentioned symptoms will mostly take minimal time as it is an outpatient method. It is better to avoid strenuous activities for at least 2 weeks or as measured by the doctor. Speedy recovery with care and concern is the primary motto of Sanjay Hospital.
